ある日サングラスを買おうとしてサングラスハット マンハッタン店にいきました。
One day I went to Sunglasshut, Manhattan, to buy new sunglasses.
言わずとした高級サングラス店です。
That was famous high-class shop.
たくさんの種類があって迷う〜
Tough job to choose one from various nice products.
そこで店員さんが声をかけてくれました。
Then one staff spoke to me,
さすがNY、めちゃくちゃオシャレな出立ちの女性っぽい振る舞いのおじさん店員さんに声をかけられました。よく芸能人のスタイリストにいる感じの、異様にお洒落なベテラン店員さんです。
He was a veery fashionable man, seemed to be a stylist of celebrity and acted like lady, this is NYC!!
さすがのサングラスハット、どんどんいい感じのサングラスを紹介してくれます。
He showed me a lot of recommendations. Those were nice.
「ンン〜、私ならコッチかナア」
さすがのセンス、納得感とともに私に似合ういい感じのサングラスを決めてくれました。
いやあー、センスあるし、おしゃれだし、よかったなあ、プロフェッショナルだなあ、やっぱり。
Finally he decided one nice sunglasses for me. That fit me and cool!
I felt like I found why NYC is the best, fashionable city.
ということで、私も満足して、支払いです。
Then, its time to pay up,,
レジでは別の店員さんが対応してくれます。
が、値段がわからない。タグが商品についてなかったのでしょう。
いくらー？と選んでくれたベテラン店員さんに聞いてました。
At the counter, other staff took care of it, however, she didn’t find the price. She asked the experienced clerk who helped me choose my sunglasses.
そうするとベテラン店員さん、「あーいくらだろう、、」たくさんの商品の種類があるのでさすがに把握してないようですね。
Then, he didn’t seem to know the price either. There were bunch f sunglasses, so it may difficult to remember the price of all products.
「これ、、いくら？」と私に聞いてきました。
He asked me “How much for this??”
？！
いや、客に聞く？？笑
一応棚に書いてあった金額を覚えていたので伝えると、「オッケー」といい
No way,,haha
How come you ask the prices to the customers??
Actually I remembered the price, so I told it to him.
そのままレジ打ち店員に伝えます。
おいおい、値段そのまま通るのこれ？？
He just said “OK” and told to the staff in the counter.
Is,,, is it ok for this price?? No confirmation required??
お店も混んでたのか謎に信頼されて、
結局、私が伝えた値段で会計が行われ、店員は確信のないまま「じゃあ、ありがとう！」って数万のお金が動きましたよ。
大丈夫か？笑
It may be because of the shop was crowded,, or I was mysteriously trusted, the sunglasses were sold at that asking price. The staff said to me “thanks!” with nice smile. LOL
まさかの言い値でサングラスを購入しました。ちゃんとしてないなあ！笑
Unbelievably, I bought sunglasses at an asking price. You’re not doing it right!!
一円単位で売り上げを合わせていた日本の居酒屋バイト時代を思い出し、、
もう何が正義なのかよくわかりません。。
I remember my days as a part-time worker at bar in Japan, when we had to match sales to the last yen.
I don’t know what justice is anymore.
