ある日、バスに乗って郊外にある学校の寮まで移動していた時
One day, when I was on the bus on the way to the school,
走っていたバスが急に停電、というかエンスト？！
いきなりバスの電気が消えて、ストップ。
the bus suddenly stopped and the lights in the bus went out.
壊れた？！道路のど真ん中でいきなり車内が真っ暗に。。。
ただ、バスの停電に全く動じない運転手と客
It was like the battery was dead.
However the inside of the bus became pitch black though,
NOBODY including driver and passengers feared and was upset.
アメリカではあるあるなのか？？
日本製の性能の良さや十分なメンテナンスからか、普通に日本ではあり得ない体験でした。
Is it common in the U.S.??
This is that we can’t experience in Japan where sufficient maintenance is carried out.
運転手も顔色ひとつ変えずに車外に出てガチャガチャ調整してました。
かなり時間かかっていて次のバスの運転手も加わって15分位奮闘。
ダイヤ乱れまくりですが、乗客も何もなかったかのような顔
The driver started to fix the breakdown without being impatient.
It took so long and other bus driver joined to fix.
Of course the schedule went late and crazy, passengers didn’t care.
日本だったらお客さんに怒られて大事件になりそうですよね。時間守れよ！って
It could be a big problem in Japan. The driver might be scolded “TOO late!! Keep time!”
運転手の数十分の格闘ののちに、
なんだかんだ停電を繰り返しながら再出発！
After 20 minutes of fixation, the bus started moving again with occasional power outage.
寮に着いたら着いたで、
トイレの水漏れで1F浸水してました。
部屋の中まで浸水していて、お気に入りの服もビチョ濡れ。
Finally I arrived at school dormitory,
I found the first floor was flooded because of water weak in bathrooms.
The water came into my room and my favorite clothes got soaked completely.
トラブル多すぎ、トラブルしかない
Too many troubles. Nothing but troubles.
そして見たこともない巨大ドライヤーで乾かすというアメリカ感
I found “This is America” from using huge dryer I have never seen to dry the floor.
