ウユニ街、どんなところなのでしょうか。
What kind of city is UYUNI?
わたしは6月に訪れたのですが、極寒でした。
南半球なので6月は冬になります。大体月平均最高気温が12℃、平均最低気温が−5℃。
めっちゃくちゃ寒いです。
I visited in June though, that was sooooo cold.
Uyuni town in Southern Hemisphere was in winter at that time, and the average maximum monthly temperature was 12 ℃ and the average minimum was -5 ℃!
なんか、、現地ぃー！！ローカルウユニですね。
ウユニ、という街にもちゃんといました現地民！身長が小さく、モンゴル的な印象、寒さも相まって極北の異国の地を思わせます
They seemed completely local people. They were not so tall and looked like Mongolian. I remind of a far north foreign land.
ただ、意外と道路も整備されていて、建物も綺麗に建てられており、地球の裏側の僻地でも発達した文明に触れるのは不思議な感じがしました。
I also found well constructed load and buildings. It was a strange feeling to be in touch with a civilization that had developed even on the other side of the globe.
そして驚いたのは、太陽がすごく近い！気がする！！！
The closest SUN ever!!
なお、地球が太陽に最も近づくのは1月らしいです。別に近いわけじゃない。。。
It is said that the Earth comes closest to the Sun in January. Not that it is close…
宿 Accommodation
宿は例によって現地調達。
いくつかのホテルを回って、Wifiがなんとか使えそうなこのホテルに決めました！
Found the hotel on the day as usual. I went around some hotels and decided the one where Wifi may be available.
Hotel Avenida
なんと温かいシャワー、、、出ました！！！まさかの！！！
素晴らしい！！
You know what?? We got hot shower, even we didn’t have any expectation.
ただ、シャワーだけじゃ外が寒すぎてなんの意味もないんです。
お風呂がいる！！！
やはり身体の芯から暖まっていないのでむしろ寒い。
but hot shower didn’t overcome the cold temperature at all, we needed hot bath actually!
部屋はこんな感じ。 the room we stayed was like this.
3人で30m2くらい、結構広かったです。
There was 30m2 for three people, very large room.
ただ最悪なのが、、
部屋に暖房がない！ロビーにはあったのに。寒すぎて、寝れない。。。
正直そこまで寒いと思っておらず、（暮らしていたアメリカから南米に訪れたのですが、当時6月アメリカは夏なので！！）持ってきた服で寒さに勝てん！！
The worst thing was ,, no heater in this room, a lobby had one though!
Honestly I didn’t think it would be that so much cold, we couldn’t beat this cold by clothes we brought from the U.S. where was hot summer at the same time.
パーカーや、レインコートなど、持っていった服を下着も含めて全て重ね着するという十二単衣状態で毛布を包み、なんとか暮らしてました。
So I wore all thin clothes including underwear and raincoat,,, to stay in this freezing room.
まあロビーもこんな感じで、暖房といっても、ちっちゃいヒーターひとつ。
管理人さんもロビーにいたのですが、何食わぬ顔です。
現地民、なかなか寒さに強いと思います。
The lobby of this hotel was in a similar situation. They had only one very small heater. The owner in this hotel didn’t care this cold.
ウユニでのお食事 Meals in Uyuni
正直、ウユニ塩湖に行く以外ウユニではやることがありません。
Honestly we had nothing to do here except going to Uyuni flat salt.
この街には3日滞在していたのですが、なかなか暇な時間が多いです。
ウユニ塩湖も1日1回数時間、ツアーに申し込んで夕日を見に行ったり朝日を見に行ったり、、のような感じでそんなに忙しいわけではありません。
We stayed three days in Uyuni town and most of the time free.
The tours going to Uyuni flat salt were not busy, just like going to the lake and see the sunset or sunrise just a few hours in a day.
そうすると、外も寒いので基本宿で待機（寝る）です、（まあ宿も激寒だったのですが。）それ以外のアクティビティはやはりメシ！ご飯を食べる、です。
so, basically mostly we stood by, sleeping in other words, in the hotel, or ate meals!
さすが観光地で、ちゃんとしたレストランがあるのです
There were many decent restaurants as a famous tourist place.

洋風から中華からアメリカンから、、世界各国の料理が食べられる環境でした。
Chinese , American, European,,, we had various cuisine from around the world in this town.
価格帯も様々で高いところはちゃんとしているし、、
The price varied also,,,
こんな感じの非常にシンプルな料理のレストランもありました。
Some of food was expensive, some was casual.
メニュー表にはたくさんのPollo、、、鶏肉やはりメインだなあ。
There many “Pollo” again on the menu.. the main foodstuff was chicken.
ウユニのブッフェ！野菜もふつーに多くの種類があり、特に異端な地にいる感じはしません。
Buffet in Uyuni! It was not so different from Japanese one, just the containers were much cheaper.
こーゆーぼろぼろレストランでも良い感じのテレビがついていて、サッカーワールドカップを生観戦できたのが驚きでした。
It was surprisingly fine TV on the wall in a local restaurant. We enjoyed World Cup live.
ちなみに、ウユニ塩湖での食事です！ This is meal in Uyuni lake.
塩湖のど真ん中にあるサボテン山でテーブル広げていただきます。
we made a table in cactus mountain in center of the flat salt.
とびきり美味かったですねーーー最高のシチュエーションでのウユニメシ
The situation was great seasoning, it was super delicious!!
街の屋台で食べた何か。辛ウマです something bought in a food cart. Spicy and nice.
ポン菓子みたいなものも売ってました。
Locals sold wheat snacks on the street.

現地感 Localism

いやほんと、舐めすぎてました。制服ちゃんとあるのね。
Well,, I was underestimating the town of Uyuni. Students have school uniforms! Huh
泥棒市場↓で売られてたようなランドセル背負ってます。
They were carrying a school bag like the ones sold in the thieves’ market.
ギリギリアウトなラパスの市場／ Barely acceptable La Paz market
特徴的だったのが現地ファッション local’s fashion was very specific.
子供は制服、お母さま方も制服？？に三つ編み？？？
Mother was wearing an uniform as like children did?? Braid hairstyle?
おばさんの服装、伝統的で統一感ある。。
The uniforms worn by the women were traditional and well organized.
美味しそうな肉料理を作っていたおばちゃんも現地スタイル！
The lady who was cooking delicious looking meat dishes also wore traditional uniform! Uyuni style!
男性も女性も、現地ファッションですね。
帽子のつばが大きなハットと、ポンチョやセーターみたいな大きめアウター
There was the local fashion for both men and women.
Hats with large brims and large outerwear like ponchos and sweaters.
服は統一感あるし、、なんといっても、現地民皆さん同じ体型なんだよなあ。。
ちっちゃくて少し丸い。
The clothes are unified, and, after all, the locals all have the same body shape.
They are short and a little round.
ボリビア人の平均身長は、男性が168.1 cm 女性が155.5 cmということで
世界的に見ても30番目程度に低いようです、、
The average height of Bolivians is 168.1 cm for men and 155.5 cm for women, which is about the 30th shortest in the world.
