ペルー（クスコ）からボリビア（ラパス）へ、入国！！

Move to Bolivia (La paz) from Peru (Cusco)!!!

観光目的の日本人にはビザは不要ですが、同行した韓国人に必要でした。

入国直前のペルーでビザが必要と発覚し、準備できず、、あたふたしていましたが、アライバルビザという方法で入国しました。

空港で幾ばくかの費用を支払うことで観光ビザをゲットすることができます。

少し高いですが、楽ちんー

A visa is not required for Japanese tourists, but it was required for the Korean who accompanied me.

We found out that we needed a visa in Peru just before entering Bolivia, then we were unprepared and in a panic.

Finally, we entered the country using the “Arrival Visa” method. You can get a tourist visa by paying a small fee at the airport.

It’s a little expensive, but EASIEST way!

さあ、ボリビアとは、、、ペルーやブラジルのお隣の国。

Bolivia is ,,, next to Peru and Brazil etc.

人口: 1150万人  Population: 11 million

面積　110万 km2  Area: 1 million km2 (three times larger than Japan)

憲法上の首都はスクレ、行政や立法の機能がある事実上の首都はラパスです。

The constitutional capital is Sucre, and the administrative and legislative functions are located in the city of La Paz.

なんと今でも人口の4割が先住民族なのです。スペインの植民地でしたが、1825年に独立しています。

最貧国として有名で、先住民族の弾圧、搾取や児童労働等の多くの問題を抱えている国でもあります。

Forty percent of the population is still aboriginal. It was a Spanish colony, then became independent in 1825.

The country is famous for being one of the poorest countries in South America and has many problems such as oppression and exploitation of indigenous people, and child labor.

訪れたのはラパス、標高3600mの世界一標高の高い事実上のボリビアの首都です。

Visited in La Paz, where is the highest capital (3600m) in Bolivia in the world.

DAY / NIGHT

国民のほぼほぼがカトリック教徒ということで、街にはこんな立派なカトリック教会があります。

Almost all citizen are Catholic, so there were fine churches like this in the town.

昼になると、すり鉢状の地形に家が立ち並んでいることがよくわかります、壮観です。

ラパスといえばこの光景！

at noon, many houses line up along the mountain terrains.  This is La Paz!

We could see the peaceful picnic going on with traditional fashion.

都市の方はこれよこれ！！ボロッボロでしょ！！！

壁は汚いわ、歩道はぐちゃぐちゃだわ、なんか車道側これなに！？台風被害後ですか？

This is it!  The town was ruined.

The wall was dirty and the sidewalk was tattered,, is it the effect of typhoon!?

かと思いきや　on the other hand,

高層ビル！南米最貧国なのですが、ラパスは意外とちゃんと都市です

Skyscraper!  Even though La Paz is poorest country in South America, it is actually CITY.

ラパスのビジネスマンと先住民の間では経済格差があるのでしょう

There must be economic disparity between businessmen and indigenous peoples.

新しく道を舗装したりしっちゃってー

They were paving the load,,

道が舗装されていることって都会度を測るための大事な指標なんですよね。

Paved load means well-organized city.

でもまだ乾いてない！べちゃべちゃすぎ！！靴が汚れる！！

but it was still wet, not for walking!!  It still can’t be said like organized city!!

通行の整備もしっかりよろしくして！

Should restrict pedestrians !

大通りはバスがよく通っていました。

Many kind of buses were running on the main street.

こんな色鮮やかな可愛いバスもあれば

some were colorful cute buses,

こういう乗り合いのバスもあります。バスというか普通のバンです。

others were just vans, which were used as local bus.

一応行き先は小さくバスに掲示されていて、現地民はこれに飛び乗って移動しています。

The small sign showed destination on the front.  Locals were jumping into the van.

停留所はない＆街中心部ではドア開けっぱなしですので、

手を上げてバンを止めて飛び乗り、降りたい時に飛び降りてました笑

There was no bus stop for this vans and opened doors, so passengers raised hand to ride then jumped out when the bus arrived destination.

大きめのバスもあります。   There were also big so-called buses.

でた！乗車率300％！！まだドア閉まっているだけまし！

電車は長距離移動のみですので、メイン交通機関はバスみたいですね

Look!!   This is the 300% occupancy! What the better thing was the closed doors!

Trains were only for long distance travel there, so the main transportation is bus!

あとはロープウェーも走ってました！驚き！！先進国のものかと思っていましたが、山間部の移動にはロープウェーが最適なようです。多くの現地民の足となっていました。

the ropeway running! Amazing!   I thought it was for developed countries, but ropeways seem to be the best way to get around in mountainous areas.

信号待ち大道芸人はほんとどこにでもいるなあ！

Easily found the street performers everywhere the traffic signal is.

GRAFFITI / HISTORY

街にはご立派な壁画？！  A lot of great graffiti were in town.

亜鉛、すず、鉛、銀などの鉱山資源が豊富です

Bolivia is rich in mining resources such as zinc, tin, lead and silver.

鉱山労働者の労働環境整備のため、鉱山事業を国有化したボリビア改革が20世紀半ばに起こりました。

改革の中心地になったここラパスの壁には改革の様子が描かれていて、今でも綺麗に残っています。

In the mid-20th century, Bolivian Revolution took place that nationalized mining operations in order to improve the working environment for miners.

The walls of La Paz, which became the center of the revolution, are still beautifully painted with scenes of the reform.

資源がある国はかえって産業化しにくいと言われています。

日本やシンガポールのような資源のない国は必死で産業化を目指しますが、ラテンアメリカの一次産業依存は低所得者層への安価な労働を強いり資産格差を生んでしまっていると考えられます。

It is said that countries with natural resources are rather difficult to industrialize.

Countries without natural resources, such as Japan and Singapore, are desperate to industrialize, however Latin America’s dependence on primary industries is thought to have led to cheap labor and asset disparity.

Meals were Chickens and Potato, as usual.

ありました、日本食レストラン！  there was also Japanese restaurant!!

南米の標高3600mでも日本食が食べられますよ！

We can enjoy Japanese cuisine in South America, 3600m above sea level.

排気ガスやばすぎて喉がやられるので口元は隠しています

街では、南米特有の、工場レベルの排気ガス出しながら走る車ばかりです。

I covered my mouse because of exhaust gases.

There were full of super exhausted car gas which were unique in South America.

TRADITION / SECURITY

野良犬がこーゆー感じで寝てるの怖すぎ

Too scary to see a stray dog sleeping like this.

落書きが先住民女性チョリータ！伝統衣装が美しく遺されています。

The graffiti was Cholita, an indigenous woman!  The traditional costumes were still beautifully preserved.

実際今でも街にこの先住民族衣装着た方が結構いるのが驚きました、

最貧国で生活が大変なのに、、文化を遺しているのは尊敬です！

In fact, I was surprised to see that there were still a lot of people wearing this indigenous costume on the streets.

Admire the fact that the poorest country in the world, where life is very difficult, is still preserving their ancient culture!

まあ、若干の治安の悪さを壁の落書きから容易に感じることができますが。

Somehow, we can easily sense the lack of security from the walls,,,

やはりで、

ラパス現地民からは「歩道橋に登るな」というアドバイス。

「お前らみたいな観光客は挟み撃ちされて身ぐるみ剥がされる」らしいです。。こわっ

Locals told me that tourists like you shouldn’t cross the footbridge.

He said that you would be attacked from both sides and deprived everything.

What a scary bridge!!

でも！深夜うろついていましたが「大通り沿い歩いていたおかげで」、怖いことには巻き込まれませんでした。大通り、ありがとう！

In deed, I didn’t get involved in anything scary, even though I was in the city late at night.  “Because of walking along the MAIN STREET”, Love you, Main Street!
