天空の遺跡と軟禁族？ ／ Temple of Preah Vihear and arresting

世界遺産「天空の遺跡」と言われるプレアヴィヒア寺院と「東のアンコールワット」と言われるベンメリア遺跡の観光ツアーに向かう。

Take a tour to “Preah Vihear Temple” and “Beng Mealea ruins” which are said to be Sky Ruins and East Angkor Wat, respectively.

ツアーはゲストハウスで注文可能！

This tour is orderable at the guesthouse.

その宿に泊まっているメンバーほか、

近くのゲストハウスに泊まっている日本人も集めてツアーに参加しました。

We joined the tour with Japanese in our guesthouse and the one close to ours.

そういえば初日に

アンコールワットに連れて行ってあげると約束をしていた運転手Kimはちゃんと朝6時に宿に迎えにきてくれていました。。（この日は2日目）

By the way, Kim who promised to bring me to Angkor Wat came to my guesthouse at 6 a.m.

まあ、もうツアー予約しちゃったから。。。ごめんね。

まずはプレアヴィヒアから！

Head for Preah Vihear!

場所はシェムリアップの北、タイとの国境です。

Preah Vihear is located in north of Siem Reap, on the border with Thailand.

Yamato ゲストハウスからマイクロバスで出発

Departed from Yamato guesthouse by microbus.

建築途中です的な建物で休憩

Short break at the building seen in the middle of construction.

あの山の頂上までのぼります。

Drive to the top of this mountain.

ここからは

当たり前のようにトラックの荷台に乗り込んでGO！

We got into the truck bed as usual!

舗装がなされていたり、されていなかったり

途中90°くらいの坂、車ひっくり返るんじゃね？という傾斜の坂を問答無用、4WDで駆け上がり、駆け下る！

こわい！

もちろんシートベルトなんてものはないので荷台から振り落とされないようにひたすら捕まる！

The road was sometimes unpaved.

Run up and down the slope where a car is almost upside down.

Needless to say, there was no seat belt, so we just caught edge of the truck bed so as not to be shaken off from the luggage carrier.

山を駆け登ること約20分

20 min with driving on the luggage carrier,

山頂に到着。

とりあえず歩きます

Finally arrived at the summit.

階段の上に何かある。

Found something at the end of stairs.

遺跡だ

It’s Ruins.

中に入ると、、、

Enter this,

遺跡が広がっている！

広い！どんどん進んで行きます。

Huge ruins!

I could see all this scenery laid out before my eyes.

壁にはクメール語が刻まれている

Khmer is inscribed on the wall.

プレアヴィヒア寺院はクメール人、クメール王朝によって9世紀に創建されました。

かのアンコールワットよりも300年前に建設されているのです！

Preah Vihear Temple was founded in the 9th century by the Khmer dynasty.

This is more than 300 years before the establishment of Angkor Wat.

元々はヒンドゥー教の寺院として建設されました。

→現在はヒンドゥー教が衰退し、仏教の寺院となったらしい。

Originally built as a Hindu temple,

Preah Vihear is now a Buddhist temple as Hindu declined.

タイとの国境でもあり、国境監視の警察がいるそうです

This is a border, so there are border surveillance police carrying guns.

ちなみにプレアヴィヒアの領土問題はタイとカンボジアで長年争われており、

ようやくこの年、2013年末に決着がついたようで

カンボジア領と認められたようです。現在はカンボジアからしかアクセスできません！

Territorial issues in Preah VIhear have been contested for many years, the discussions were finally settled last of this year.

It was recognized as Cambodian territory and currently it can be only be accessed from Cambodia side.

私が訪れたこの時はまだ決着がついていなかったんかい。。。

When I visited here, the issues wasn’t settled…

さあ、先に進みます

Move on the ruins,

ずっと進んでいくと、崖！！

危ない！

As we progress, there was a cliff!

標高が高く、雲の中にいるよう

Seems to be in the clouds because of high altitude.

ただ、少し待っていると

Waiting a little time,

晴れた！

It became SUNNY!

雲の境界線はっきり過ぎる

Cloud boundaries were clearly visible.

絶景でした

Exactly a superb view.

いやあー、堪能したなー

それでは、帰ります。山をおります。

When I was going back,

と思ったら、

天空の街の住民たち

people living in “the sky town”

へーこんなところに住んでるのね〜と思ってたら、、、！！

彼ら、トラックに乗り込んで来ようとする！

They tried to get on the truck bed.

それを必死で天空の警備員は阻止する。

Security guard desperately prevent it.

ただ、、彼ら警備を振り切って

無理やり走っているトラックに乗ってこようとする！

、、、なんで？！

However, they just tried to get out of the security and get on the RUNNING truck.

W H Y ?

どうしても下界におりたい人間たちと

どうしたも引き止めたい警備員が走るトラックの周りで鬼ごっこ。。。

Humans who really wanted to get off the mountain,

vs

Securities who really wanted to prevent that.

この人たちは一生下界に降りれないのかな…何かこわさを感じる…

Can’t they go down the mountain…?  Is there a special reason?
