This is a story about entering Cairo, Egypt, the most “annoying” country I have ever visited, and being shocked by its traffic culture.

空港から市内へGO！ タクシーを拾いました
Headed for the town by taxi.
ん？ なかなか車の民度低いぞ。
Oh yeah? It looks very low popularity in the traffic.
車線という概念が、、、ない？
No concept of traffic lanes?
というか、信号もめっちゃ少ないし、
Even worse, there are very few signals.
ぶっ壊れてます。
Broken.
こりゃダメよ。もう
This is a complete disaster.
運転が自由すぎる。
Too much freedom in driving…
混雑してくるとこうなります。
This is what happens when it gets crowded.
いや！ いやいやいやいややりすぎ！！突っ込みすぎだろ！
自己中心的すぎる！笑

Too self-centered! lol
こんなに危ない運転してても事故らないんだなあ、さすが海外、と思って見ていましたが
I wonder how they don’t get into accidents even though they drive so dangerously, but I was wrong,
普通にぶつかってました。
They were crashing according to the situation.
基本的に車はボコボコ。凹みまくってます。
Basically, the cars are bumped around.
車をステータスシンボルのように乗っている一般人は皆無ですね。
どうやら数万円で中古車は買えるらしいです。
None of the ordinary people have cars as status symbols.
They can buy a used car for just tens thousands of dollars.
ここカイロは、ちゃんと渋滞による事故が多く、なんと
世界で最も1マイルあたりの交通事故発生件数が多いらしい。
In Cairo, there are a lot of accidents due to traffic jams,
and that is the highest number of traffic accidents per mile in the world!!
さらには道路標識は、ほとんど存在しないらしい。。。なんで？笑
Even worse, there are few road sign,,, Why? Haha
これはもうドアない？！笑 どうした！
ぶつかりすぎ！！！！
No doors on this car? What’s happening?
しかもなんだ？なんでそんなとこ握ってんの？？ ドア取れないように持ってんのかい？！笑
Why is this guy holding the door? So it doesn’t fall off?? Lol
街中には修理中なのかわからないが工具とともに放置されている車あり。
There are cars left in town with tools, although it is not clear whether they are being repaired or not.
やっぱりちゃんと道路はこんな感じで破壊されています。
The roads are properly destroyed. I knew this.
ほぼ土の上を歩いているね、大地を踏み締める。
I walk almost on dirt,, stepping on the earth.
それでも現地民は元気である！
Still, the local children are in good spirits!!
さあ、そんなこんなで宿へ到着！

エジプトっぽい内装で、綺麗でしたよ。
