週1で開催されている「泥棒市場」と呼ばれる市場に行ってみた！！
In La Paz, “markets”, which were the core of local people’s lives, were held everywhere.
We went to one market held once a week called the “Thieves Market”!
もうごっちゃごちゃ！人多い！
市場というか、一般人が出している出店を集めまくっているフリーマーケットみたいなイメージでした。
Super crowded and messy!!!
It was more like free market which was made up with many stalls of local people.
天国に近い市場 HEAVEN Market
何がすごいって、場所がすごい。開催場所がすごい〜
市場からの景色です
The most amazing thing was the location of this market.
完全に山の上。山の上市場。
The market was absolutely located at a top of the mountain.
いやあーにしても、景色がすごいですねえ。山の上かつ崖の上に市場がある感じです
What a magnificent scenery!! The market was on a cliff and gave us great view.
なんせ山の上でやってるので、崖を駆け上がります。
so, we had to climb the cliff to visit the market.
山頂までの階段にも出店がたくさんあり、めちゃ人多い
There were many stalls with stacked people on both sides of the stairs.
現地民の息使い Feel the local life
生活の生命線なのでしょう。観光客用ではなく、買う方も売る方も現地民ばかり！
This market was like the CORE of locals. Both buyers and sellers were mostly local people.
母と息子、一応何かを売っています
いや何これ、天空の牢獄みたいなところだな。路上生活感がすごい
A mother with her son was selling something in prison in the sky.
こちらも親子で売ってます、
Here was also a parent-child seller.

どこからか仕入れたアイドルグッズを売り捌いて何とか生活しているのでしょう！
They likewise! They must be struggling to survive by selling “idol goods” that nobody knows where they were purchased from.
家族が生きていくために頑張っているのでしょう
This is the way to live here.
でも、申し訳ないけど、基本的にはボロッボロなんですよ
That was their work to live though, the market and product were basically tattered.
服を着せられているマネキンもギリギリ生きている感じ
The mannequin with clothes for sale seemed barely alive.
ボロボロなのは市場自体もそうで、 The market was also collapsing,
基本的に家は建設中なのか、壊れちゃったのか、屋根がないことが多かったですね
さすが南米最貧国
the buildings there were basically without roof, I don’t know if it was broken or under construction…
This is definitely the POOREST country.
ビニールハウスで何とか頑張っていますねー

また、市場の特徴としては品数です
もうね、何でも売ってるんですよ、
The feature of market here was product family.
Everything was sold here.
衣類がメインかと思いきや
Clothes were sold,,,
食べ物も売ってます
Food was also sold.

Parfait with fried chicken?!
新鮮な野菜や果物もその場でカットしてくれます
Fresh vegetables and fruits were served on the spot.

いや、なんでこんなの一般人が売ってるの？？ってめっちゃ謎なんですが
一つの理由は市場の名前に隠されていました。
Wondering why local people sold those strange things,
the name of this market showed the reason.
「泥棒市場」って面白い名前だなあと思い、由来は何かなと調べると
盗品が出品されているからです。と
そのまんまかい！
I searched the origin of the market name “thief’s market”, then found it was literally “THIEF’S market”. The stolen items were on sale.
Right on!
びっくり。あのユニフォーム盗品じゃないよね？笑

写真見返すと、そういえば売り子みんな顔隠してんなあおい、
え、そういうこと？！
No seller was looking up in my photos.. No wonder.

then I found one guy.
