いや、でかいわな。 Huge — seriously huge.
港に停まっていると、ただのマンションです。最大乗客数2500人らしい。。
今回は、飛行機ではなく「フェリーで国境越え」
When it’s docked at the port, it just looks like a floating apartment complex. It can carry up to 2,500 passengers.
This time, we’re not flying. We’re crossing the border by ferry.
ストックホルム発は主に午後４時発。翌朝１０時ごろにヘルシンキ着です。夜行フェリーです。
Most ships leave Stockholm around 4 p.m. and arrive in Helsinki around 10 a.m. the next morning — an overnight voyage across the Baltic Sea.
乗り方 How to board
まずターミナルへ。船はストックホルム市内から電車で１０分くらいのところに停泊してます
First, go to the terminal — it’s about a 10-minute train ride from central Stockholm.
運航しているのは「Viking Line」と「Tallink Silja Line」

受付カウンターで紙チケットを発行し、
At the counter, they print your paper ticket,
パスポートを見せて、「ピッ」。
以上。
then check your passport, beep, and that’s it.
空港のような荷物検査もなく、すべてがゆるい。
あまりにスムーズすぎて「え、もう乗っていいの？」ってなる。
No baggage checks, no security stress — it’s shockingly smooth. You’ll find yourself asking, “Wait, that’s all? Can I just… go in?”
部屋 Cabins
このくらい船が大きいと、「豪華客船」のイメージですごく金額も高そうですが、
意外とそんなことはありませんでした。
- エコノミーキャビン（窓なし、簡易ベッド4つ） €80（約14,000円）* お部屋の料金ですので、知らない人と相部屋になることはありません
- デラックスキャビン（窓あり、ツインベッド） €200（約35,000円）
- スイートルーム（バルコニー付き、完全個室） €400（約70,000円）
一見高そうに見えますが、「移動＋宿泊」が一体になってますし、
ビッグマックセット2000円の北欧にしては、かなり安いですよね。
With a ship this big, you might expect cruise ship prices, but it’s affordable.
- Economy Cabin (no window, 4 pull-down beds): €80
- Deluxe Cabin (with window, twin beds): €200
- Suite Room (balcony, full private space): €400
It may sound pricey, but it covers both transport and accommodation.
Considering things prices in Scandinavia, this is practically a bargain.
今回は迷うことなくエコノミーキャビンへ。
I chose the Economy Cabin without hesitation.
見た目は…まあ、良い。
でも中身は完全に独房です
At first glance, it looks fine… until you open the door. Inside, it’s basically a cell.
4人泊まれる仕様になっていて、
ベッドは「壁に貼り付いている」
壁から引き剥がして展開すると2段ベッド×2セット。
The beds are attached to the wall — you have to pull them down to make two sets of bunk beds.
窓なし。
車のデッキ階より下。
そう、沈むときは車より先です。
下すぎてWifiが入らない。。
ガチで独房感。
No window. Below the car deck. Meaning, if we sink, I go before the cars do.
Too deep for Wi-Fi to reach.
A real solitary confinement vibe.
あの、、複数人だとそんなに値段変わらないのでぜひスイート予約しちゃってください。
（この教訓を経て、別日のPolandからSwedenへのフェリーは、最上級、船頭のスイートルーム取りました。最高でした。）↓
So yeah, if you’re traveling with friends, just go for the suite. Seriously.

デッキからの景色 Views from the deck
外に出ると、世界が変わる。
Step outside, and it feels like a new world.
やはり、ストックホルムの街並みは美しい。。

さて、ストックホルムからバルト海に抜ける航路は、まるで島の迷路のよう。
The route through the Baltic Sea is like a maze of islands.
ストックホルム周辺は、なんとまあ約3万もの島々で構成されています。
これは氷河期の名残で、氷が溶けて地面が少しずつ持ち上がる「氷河隆起」という現象で、
小さな島が無数に生まれたらしい
Around 30,000 islands surround Stockholm — formed by the post-glacial rebound after the Ice Age, when melting glaciers caused the land to slowly rise and fragment into countless islets.
船がその間をすり抜けていく光景は、他では見られません。
The sight of the ship weaving through countless islands is something you can only see here.
海沿いに建てられた可愛い一軒家たち。サウナ小屋や桟橋があって、釣りしたりボート乗ったりしてる
Charming houses built along the seaside, each with a small sauna by the shore and a boat at the dock.
大小様々な島があるが、中にはこんな小さな島も！
There are islands of all sizes — and some are as tiny as this one!
直径100mくらいしかない島に、ぽつんと一軒家。
いや、人生優勝すぎでしょ。
Tiny private islands — some barely 100 meters across — each with a single house.
It’s so free, so unreal.
買い物も通勤も船？
どういう生活してる？！ どういうお仕事されてる？？？！！
You can’t help but wonder: “How do they buy groceries? What do they even do for work?!”
海上ではヨットやウェイクボードもやっていて、「海と共に暮らす」ってこういうことなんだなと思います。規制なども厳しすぎず、きっととても自由なんだろう。。。
On the water, people sail yachts and ride wakeboards — truly living with the sea.
It made me think: this is what “life by the ocean” really means.
新橋のサラリーマンが満員電車に揺られ馬車馬に残業を重ねる世界がある一方、
周囲を海に囲まれた一軒家に住み、好きな時に海に出てるような世界線も存在しています。
こういう生活をする選択肢が存在していることへの嫉妬となんとも言えない日本社会への強烈な悲壮感を覚えました。
Back home, office workers are crushed into trains every morning.
The contrast hit me hard — envy mixed with quiet sorrow.
水平線の向こうに沈みゆく太陽を眺めながら、生活、仕事、人生、、など考えさせられましたよ
Watching the sun sink beyond the horizon, I couldn’t help thinking about life, work, and everything in between.
船内エンタメ Entertainment
このフェリー、ただの移動手段じゃない。
なんと11階建！！
This ferry isn’t just transportation — it’s an 11-story floating mall.
いやあ、、テンション上がりますね。
Wow… this really gets me excited.
この階段で、デカめの犬4匹くらい連れてるマダムと普通にすれ違ったんですけど、北欧ではお犬さんは基本どこでも連れてOKみたいですね。バスにも乗ってくるし。
On the stairs, I passed by a lady casually walking four big dogs.
It seems in Northern Europe, dogs are welcome almost everywhere — even on buses!

レストラン、ピアノの生演奏弾き語り付き！
There’s a restaurant with live piano music — the kind that makes you want to stay for hours.
ライブステージ、北欧二流アイドルがBLACKPINK歌い踊ってましたよ。
On the stage, a Nordic idol group was singing and dancing to BLACKPINK.
数多のバーやパブ、デッキで酒飲むは最高すぎる！
Countless bars and pubs fill the ship, and drinking on the deck with the sea breeze.
カジノ、There’s even a casino,
ダンスホール、a dance hall,
免税店。お化粧品やお酒、洋服まで
and a duty-free shop — selling everything from cosmetics to fine liquor and clothes.
まさに「海上のモール」です。
でも、高級すぎなくて、「普段使いの豪華客船」って感じ。
北欧らしいカジュアルな雰囲気で、乗客はみんな自然体に楽しんでいます。
It’s truly a “floating mall.”
But not too luxurious, it is like a casual cruise you could actually use every day.
The atmosphere is relaxed in that Scandinavian way. Everyone onboard just enjoys themselves naturally.
