市街地へ　 To the city

街にでます、基本的に車移動です。

ナイジェリア🇳🇬やベナン🇧🇯とは異なり、バイクはほとんど見かけません

I went to the city. We move basically by car.
Different from Nigeria or Benin, I saw almost no motorbikes.

これは西アフリカあるあるで、道路にはたくさんの大きな穴が空いてます。

普通に通ると車がハマって動けなくなる穴です。

長い木の棒を刺して穴があることを知らせたり、ゴミを穴にたくさん突っ込んで無意味な埋め立てみたいにしてます。

This is “West Africa style”: many big holes on the road. If you drive normal, your car can fall inside and stop.
Sometimes people put long sticks to show there is a hole. Sometimes they fill it with trash, like useless repair.

たまに、避けられないくらい大きな穴に出会します。

Sometimes the hole is too big to avoid.

もうとにかく道の大半が穴！！

Really, most of the road is full of holes!!

頭文字Dでコーナーをより速く走るために車のタイヤ一輪を溝に落とした状態で走る「溝落とし」という技がありましたが、

ここコートジボワールでは、タイヤ二輪を歩道に乗り上げることで道路中央の穴に落ちないようにする技を見せてきました

Here, they put two wheels on the sidewalk to avoid the hole in the middle.

街の様子 City life

市街地以外ではコートジボワール人、大体プレハブ小屋に住んでました

Outside the center, many people live in small prefab houses.

昨日の大雨で川が洪水状態！大丈夫か！？

After yesterday’s rain, rivers were flooded! Is it safe!?

こんな氾濫してる川沿い、道端では、お母さんが娘に自家製コーンローを編み込んでいました

ベナン🇧🇯では、だいたいみんなずぶ濡れか雨宿りだったのに！！！

都心部にはガーナ🇬🇭にもなかったガラス張りのいわゆる高層ビルがある！！

In Benin, people just got wet or waited for the rain.

And in Abidjan, I saw glass skyscrapers, not even in Ghana!

これはバス停。なにも看板サインないけど、まごうことなきバス停です。

This is a bus stop. No signboard, but it is really a bus stop.

こういう乗合バスや、もっと大型の路線バスが走ってました。

Shared buses and large buses were running.

前日の大渋滞（↓）がトラウマで、こんなバスに閉じ込められるなんて恐ろしくて乗れません。。。バスのダイヤ乱れまくりでしょ

But after yesterday’s crazy 8-hour traffic jam, I was too scared to get stuck inside a bus. The bus schedule must be destroyed.

実は、コートジボワールは世界最大のカカオ産地（世界の約4割）なのです。チョコのイメージがあるガーナは2位。ISS African Futures

お土産と言えばやはりチョコでしょう！！綺麗めなお店を紹介します。

Ghana, famous for chocolate, is No.2.

現地はだいたいこの10分の1の物価に対してこれはすごい。

そういえば、レジの奥に加工場があるようで、最終加工までやっていた！そこは覗こうとしたらすごい勢いで静止されたし、絶対に見られないようにしてました。。

Behind the cashier, there seemed to be a small factory.
I tried to look, but staff stopped me strongly. Maybe full of insects inside… scary.

自国で加工販売まで頑張っていたけど、、、しっかりアフリカ品質であった。

More than half of the cacao is exported, processed abroad, and sold.
Here, they try to process and sell, but… yes, African quality.

Inside a big warehouse, many small shops.

大きな倉庫の中が全て商店でうまってます。

鶏が数十羽檻に入れられてたり、民族衣装が売られていたりしました。

現地製のお土産（民芸品）を買うにはよいでしょう

服飾のブランド店があったり、中のスーパーには、食品だけでなく家電から家具まで様々ありました。

Wow, such a clean mall! It had fashion brand shops.

Supermarket inside sold food, electronics, and furniture.
