とっても心優しいけどやはり適当すぎるガーナ人。
そして格差社会を垣間見る、袋水？！生活。
Ghana people are very kind, but also too easy-going.
And I saw the big gap between rich and poor… and the strange “bag water” life.

観光客もよく来るような市内ではハイランクの素敵レストランでガーナディナー！
In the city, I went to a nice high-rank restaurant where many tourists also go.
ジャングルの中にあるような感じ！いやあ、、ガーナにもこんなリゾート型レストランがあるのかと、料理が楽しみ！
It felt like eating in the jungle! Wow, I didn’t know Ghana also has this kind of resort-style restaurant. I was so excited for the food!
ただ、自然すぎて蚊がたくさん。
But… too natural = too many mosquitos.
50隻以上はあろうかという大きな空間。木の間をぬって組み上げられた2階テラスへ。
丁寧にメニューを説明してくれました。
The place was huge, maybe more than 50 tables, with a second floor terrace made between trees.
The staff explained the menu very politely.
何と驚きは物価が安すぎる！！
And the biggest surprise: so cheap!!
ビール1本、7GHS（ガーナ・セディ）、これ80円です。
プレートにサイドをつけて、50GHS、600円。やしいいぃぃぃぃぃ！！
ちょっと良いレストランでこれですよ。
なお一般的な外食は、一食250円くらいでした。
– One beer 7 GHS = about 80 yen.
– A full plate with side 50 GHS = about 600 yen.
This is a “good” restaurant price!
Normal outside food was only about 250 yen per meal.
舞茸の揚げ物やジョロフライス（ちょい辛炊き込みご飯）、ワチェ（お赤飯）、シト（ガーナの食べラー）とともに肉、をいただきました
I ate fried mushrooms, jollof rice, waakye (red rice), shito (Ghana chili sauce), and meat.
そして、旨い！ナイジェリアで食べて不味すぎたヤム芋も主食らしいですが、コメ系は旨いぞ！
It was really good! Even yam (which tasted very bad in Nigeria for me) is a common food here, but the rice meals are super tasty.
ただやはり、すぐにアフリカンクオリティをさらけ出してきます。
Of course, “African quality” soon showed up.
早く出るから！って言っていたスターターはメインと一緒にでてくるし、もう一つはオーダーにすら入っていなかった。笑
Starters came out together with main dish (though they said it will come early).
Another order was forgotten. Haha.
忙しかったらしょうがないが、 客、我々しかいませんが。。。
Well, we were the only customers there, but okay…
でもとても優しいんです！！ Still, they are very kind!!
死ぬほど蚊に噛まれながら、地元ガーナのCLUBビールを愉しんでいると
蚊の塗り薬を貸してくれたり、
塗り薬が切れそうだったのでわざわざ買ってきてくれたり（結局欠品だったらしいが）。
While I was fighting with so many mosquitos and drinking local CLUB beer,
they lent me mosquito medicine,
and even tried to buy more when their tube was almost empty (but no stock in the end).
なんか、心が豊かで良いですよね。
It warmed my heart.
さらには「ここの蚊はマラリア持ってないよ」、という現地人からの信ぴょう性０の謎情報をくれて、私の心に安心を与えてくれるホスピタリティ。
They even said, “Don’t worry, mosquitos here don’t have malaria,” which had zero trust, but gave me strange peace of mind.
結果めちゃくちゃ刺されました、、、が、予防接種が、効いたかな？？発症せず。
Result: I was bitten like crazy… but maybe my vaccine worked? I never got sick.
現地人の生活 Local life in Ghana
港町の様子 In the port town,
制服を着て登下校している小学生もいれば、ずっと遊んでるだろっていう少年たちもいる。
I saw kids in uniforms going to school, and other boys who seemed to just play all day.
サルエルパンツを履いていたら小学生に発狂するほど笑われました。「めちゃ女じゃんっ！」と。
When I wore sarouel pants, elementary kids laughed like crazy:
“Wow, you look so girly!!”
さて、そんな彼ら、なんか300mlくらいのパックの水をよく飲んでいます。ペットボトルじゃなくて、金魚入れるビニール袋みたいなやつ。
ビニールに穴開けてちゅうちゅう吸う感じ。
And I noticed many people drinking about 300ml “bag water.”
Not bottles, but small plastic bags, like for goldfish.
They bite a corner and sip slowly.
自分は旅してた時汗かくし、めっちゃ喉乾くので、これどれくらい飲むのか聞いてみると、
成人男性でも1日たった4袋しか飲まないと。合計1.2Lくらい。
ん？少なくね？？！
I asked how much they drink a day. Even adult men said only 4 bags = about 1.2 liters.
What!? Too little!
赤道近くで灼熱ですよ、こっちは汗ダラダラで2Lのペットボトルごくごく飲んでるのに、現地民全然水飲まないんです。ビニール水をちゅうちゅうゆっくり飲んでるんです
Near the equator, under the hot sun, I sweat like crazy and drink 2 liters quickly.
But locals sip slowly, very calm.
そういえばベナン人も全然水飲んでなかったなあ。。（↓こんときのドライバーかんかん照りの中、1日の水分摂取量ビール一本だったもんなあ、タクシードライバー。。）
Even in Benin, I saw the same. My driver one day only drank one beer in the burning sun… insane.
貧乏なのか、体質なのか、まあ両方で適応してきたんでしょうが、、体の作り違いすぎました。
もっと水飲めいっ！
Maybe it’s money, maybe body difference, maybe both. Anyway, their body seems adapted.
But I wanted to shout: “Drink more water!!”
一方、小綺麗なモールもあるように、めっちゃ発展している場所もある
On the other hand, some places are very modern, with clean malls.
ただ物価がおかしいんです。 But prices there are strange.
ジュース一本300円とか。綺麗だけど、スーパーは物価高い！
上流階級、、お偉いさんや、駐在員用かな、ここは。
One juice = 300 yen. Super expensive!
Looks like only for rich people, bosses, or foreign workers.
冷蔵庫など家電も売っていて、数万円、普通に日本と同じような物価でした。
Electronics like fridges were also same price as Japan.
現地レストラン一食250円、ビール80円なのに、物価がはちゃめちゃすぎる。
格差社会か？！
So… street food = 250 yen, beer = 80 yen, but malls = crazy expensive.
Yes, this is a gap society.
ガーナの宿 Stay in Ghana

アクラ市内の宿です。
西アフリカ、だいたいこの厳重すぎる門があって、警備員が常に常駐してます。夜はレストランにも強盗が当然のように入ると聞いていた噂通り、セキュリティちゃんとしている。
In West Africa, most hotels have strong gates and guards all day.
I heard even restaurants get robbed at night, so yes, security is serious.
このホテルの洗練されたリゾート感とは裏腹に、大通りからホテル入り口までの、この100mの道は信じられないほどガタガタ、舗装されてません。
Inside, it felt like a nice resort, but… the last 100m road from the main street to the hotel was terrible and broken.
夜に街からタクシーで帰ってきたとき、
このたった100mを危ないからと言って、ホテルの門の目の前まで連れてってくれました、その手厚さにドライバー優しいなあと感心。と同時に、やっぱ夜（24じくらい？）は危ないんだ！と感じさせられます。
At night, taxi drivers kindly drove me right to the gate because it was “dangerous.”
I felt thankful, but also realized, “Wow, it really is dangerous at night (around 12am).”
ホテル内はとても綺麗！シャワーの水圧も強く、掃除も行き届いてます。
スタッフも優しくて、
洗濯物、、パンツを外の渡り廊下に干してたら、なんとスタッフが回収して業務用の洗濯物干すところで乾かしていてくれました。お手数をおかけしました。ご丁寧にありがたい。。
The hotel itself was very clean, good shower pressure, rooms well-kept.
Staff were so kind.
I hung my laundry outside (even underwear),
but they collected it and dried it with the hotel laundry. I was so thankful!
朝食は、おかずの種類も卵の調理法も飲み物も全て事前にいくつかの選択肢から選ぶスタイル
Breakfast was also special: I could choose dishes, egg style, and drinks in advance.
なんと時間を指定して、部屋まで持ってきてくれます。
なお、指定した時間から1時間は遅れてましたが👌
, and they brought it to my room at the set time.
(Of course, about one hour late, but that’s Ghana style)
ガーナの夜 Night life in Ghana
ネオンの感じなど、どことなくフィリピン感を感じます。夜遊びしている人も多い。
The night neon lights reminded me of the Philippines. Many people go out at night.
夜の移動も、BoltやUverでラクラク！
たまーーに、めっちゃ現金要求してくるドライバーもいましたが、
基本はカード支払いでよく、エジプトやナイジェリアとは大違い！！とても過ごしやすい！
Moving around was easy with Bolt or Uber. Some drivers asked for cash, but mostly card payment worked.
So much easier than Egypt or Nigeria!
さびれ過ぎたモールの中にカジノがありました。ただ内装は先進国のそれとそこまで大差のない煌びやかな感じ。
I even found a casino inside an old mall.
The outside was dead, but inside was shiny, almost like a developed country.
My favorite place in Ghana.
